Our client, a producer of Chemicals and Fertilizers is seeking their Sr. Manager or Director of Purchasing to join their team in Pasadena, Texas

He / she will supervise and support full life cycle asset management in alignment with Procurement objectives. Provide senior leadership and operational support for asset procurement and inventory control and management from purchase through disposal. We are looking for The Procurement Sr. Manager or Director with extensive experience in procurement for capital projects and maintenance and repair( tank construction, maintenance and repair of production facilities, loading racks, spare parts, and other spending at a manufacturing site.

The Sr. Manager / Director will be responsible for the overall purchasing function including negotiation with vendors for the purchase of products sold by the company and also the supplies used by the company. The Director will also be responsible for his/her Staff. This is a hands on role and the right candidate must have the "big" picture from purchase to application.

Five years of Management experience.

10 plus years of purchasing experience coupled with a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a Business related discipline. He/ she must be detailed oriented with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Must have a strong understanding of Lead Times.

Responsibilities below and are not limited to:

Negotiate with vendors for goods, negotiating the best prices for the specified quality and design standards.

Establish purchasing policies and ensure compliance. Must be able travel to various facilities to ensure purchasing policies are adhered to. MRO, (Maintenance, Repair, Operations.)

Ability to develop new vendors when current vendors are inadequate or the products are to be introduced.

Negotiate blanket purchase orders when needed and monitor costs during this period of time.

Coordinate with customs brokers and vendors to maximize consolidation of shipments.

Collaborates with sales, customer service and operations for Sales Forecasting and Inventory requirements for specific projects.

Monitors inventory for inconsistencies as well as coordinating quality inspections of new products, product changes and package changes.

Coordinate with the Director of Inventory to monitor and adjust inventory as needed.

Training of Staff / M&A review for purchase.

Coordinate work schedules of the Staff.
