Associate Procurement Manager

Our client has a 1 year or longer contract assignment. Excellent hourly pay and benefits.

Associate Procurement Manager to manage a portfolio of strategic source plan categories and projects covering capital expenditures across the enterprise. This position manages spend in a portfolio of projects in the Capital Long Range Plan with projects generally ranging from $1M - $10M.

Develop and manage value generating sourcing initiatives for assigned spend categories and projects, by leading cross functional teams and setting up long term supplier relationship management programs

Define, understand and analyze business needs for architectural, engineering and construction services, engineered equipment, construction materials and services and supply market information

Interact with stakeholders by being seen as the subject matter expert on supply market conditions for capital equipment and services

Ensure supplier alignment, capacity and support for existing and future capital project requirements

Work collaboratively with procurement managers at various sites to implement sourcing initiatives, and works closely with the Global Procurement Services team to ensure the alignment of transactions to the agreed sourcing strategies

Utilize Strategic Procurement Council, ISM and related industry associations to identify and benchmark best practices

Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers

Proactively provide growth opportunities to Small Business Concerns; including these vendors as appropriate in the Bid, Evaluate, and Award process. Continuously increase overall awareness with stakeholders

Provide consultation and guidance on complex problems to all levels of management but is very comfortable at engaging with senior levels both internally and externally

Proficiently work through complex problems to identify solutions proactively

Analyze Category and Supplier Spend history, trends and forecasts

Pricing analysis, modeling, purchase price cost analysis and competitive benchmarks

Develop trusted and collaborative stakeholder relationships by meeting and communicating regularly

Be a proactive team member that has earned seat-at-table

Facilitate and manage cross-functional sourcing initiatives, including Make or Buy activities

Develop detailed supplier knowledge, market data, including financial performance (P/L, balance sheet, debt structures, trends, history, executives, ownership, parent companies, size, concentration of sales to GNE, diversity of sales volume)

Understand the industry so that there is demonstrated abilities to lead the development of contract business terms, and facilitating cross-functional contract implementation

Develop respectful relationships with key supplier executives that are demanding yet fair as a customer that proactively manages supplier performance to drive continuous improvements.

Ensure Diversity Suppliers are included in sourcing events

Identify opportunities that focus on cost reductions, efficiencies/quality improvements, risk mitigation, industry and supply trends and shifts in technology

Develop cross-functional sourcing strategies for assigned Spend categories, using standard sourcing tools and processes

Exhibiting and acting with integrity by maintaining compliance with internal policies, procedures and all regulatory and governmental regulations and laws

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability to manage and control an annual spend program in a range of $1M - $10M as outlined in the Company capital investment plan.

Demonstrated knowledge of the manufacturing business, markets and industry, including well-developed technical and commercial knowledge of Manufacturing Facilities, Distribution Operations and Supply Chain sectors

Demonstrated ability in building cross-functional relationships and alignment

Experienced in establishing and building successful supplier relationships

Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to interpret and utilize key financial data

Demonstrated change management skills, as well as versatility in responding to change

Demonstrated ability to take a process or project into implementation

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years of related construction experience

Demonstrates basic knowledge in procurement methodologies and sourcing approaches and techniques

Project management / Program management: Demonstrated ability in leading projects to successful and on-time completion

Demonstrates the fundamentals in building internal and external relationships that create alignment

Risk and financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret and utilize key financial data

MS Office, ERP and Ariba eSpend
