Our client a Fortune 50 company needs an IMS Systems Consultant / Programmer to install IMS Version 9. The work can be done remotely and you would need to estimate the hours based on the attached Statement of Work (SOW) and take ownership to get the job done within the hours allocated. You will be paid for the whole job after clients accepts and signs off on the delivery. The SOW tasks are:

IMS V9 Pre-install considerations:
 z/OS maintenance is required. DFSMS APAR OA11468/UA18949 is a prerequisite for Fast Path customers.
 Migration/Coexistence SPE maintenance must be added to V8 IMS:
 PK06145/UK18489. IMS V8 RECONs may be upgraded to IMS V9 by executing the DBRC utility (DSPURX00) and using the CHANGE.RECON UPGRADE command.
 IRLM 2.2 is required, if IRLM is used. Existing procs can be used unchanged (except for STEPLIB).
 IMS V9 was the last release to support SMU (Security Maintenance Utility);
 The IMS V9 Database Recovery (DFSURDB0) and Database Change Accumulation (DFSUCUM0) utilities accept as input: log, image copy, and change accumulation data sets created by IMS V8 or later. However, upon fallback, the reverse is not true.
 Note that some IMS exit routines are now obsolete; others may require code modifications, and/or reassembly/relinking.

Installation and Migration Tasks:
 Perform all SMP/E tasks for downloading software, including applying available follow-on maintenance as identified in PSP buckets.
 Run install dialogs and IVPs. Note that IVPs are mandatory, as these generate some of the resources subsequently used by IMS.
 Perform z/OS tasks (e.g., new nucleus entry; new SVCs; new dump formatter; etc.).
 Perform IMS ALLGEN, ACBGEN, other control block gens as required. Note that RECON upgrade is relatively trivial, especially if not shared.
 Orderly shutdown of current IMS V8 system; back up everything; prepare for COLD start of IMS V 9.

New IMS V 9 Functionality
 Operations Manager (OM): IMS Version 9 provides a TSO SPOC (Single Point of Control) to view all messages and displays information from the audit trail.
 Dynamic Resource Definition (DRD) is a new capability in IMS Version 9.
 This is a general purpose interface that can be used to issue various resource definition and operational commands.
