McGraw-Hill Professional has an immediate opening for aSales Representative ,Field Sales . The Sales Representative, Field Sales is responsible for servicing and promoting titles through existing accounts, selling new product, replenishing backlist, opening new accounts, and servicing the needs of all accounts within designated territory. Essential Accountabilities include: Increase net sales in territory by growing existing accounts and developing new accounts. Present and sell front list titles to all accounts in territory ensuring maximum distribution. Responsible for keeping accounts up-to-date by replenishing backlist and keeping current books in stock. Accountable for selling to all types of stores in territory - general bookstores, wholesalers, college bookstores, medical bookstores, specialty stores etc. Initiate correspondence, follow-up letters, e-mails, telephone calls, and mailing to help inform accounts of promotional efforts for our titles. Initiate supplemental correspondence, follow-up letters, e-mails, telephone calls, and mailings to professors, students, and hospital administrators as needed. Set up appointments and plan itineraries in a manner that provides maximum coverage of area. Work with customers to promote titles through coop advertising, promotion, placement, or other activities that maximize sell through and best utilizes coop funds. Attend and actively participate in all sales conferences and related conference calls. Additionally, the Field Sales Representative will: Actively seek out and pursue all possible new sales opportunities including traditional and non-traditional markets. Meet sales goals on monthly basis and as required for specific focus titles and special offers. Maintain professional appearance and interaction with in-house personnel and with customers. Computer proficiency and use of company provided computer programs, including EDW, Optio, Word, Excel, etc. Participation in national, regional and local trade shows, and exhibits as required by management. Participation in student/faculty conferences as appropriate. Management of territory expenses within approved budget level. Monitoring of National Account promotion compliance as requested. A bachelor's degree is required. Must have a minimum of 2 years account management, client services, or sales experienceOR A minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookstore, with AT LEAST 2 years of management experienceOR A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience as an acquisitions editor or buyer Must have a minimum of 2 years of book publishing experience Travel required up to 25%. Computer skills a must with working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and internal systems.
